KIG Smart Test Post, let technology lead us forward

Jun 20,2025

At present, in China, long-distance buried steel pipelines for oil and gas are mostly protected by the method of anti-corrosion coating combined with cathodic protection. This protection method can effectively slow down or even stop the corrosion of the pipelines. Data collection for long-distance pipelines has always been a difficult problem. The transportation distance of long-distance pipelines is too long and the management is too complicated. There are many people managing the pipelines, but when the pipelines are too long, very few people are assigned to each location. At this time, intelligent equipment comes into play. Intelligent equipment greatly reduces the use of human and material resources and also greatly improves work efficiency. There is no need to frequently go to each test post to check the data. Just test whether the data collected by the intelligent test post is accurate during installation. If there are no problems, it can be used.

In the past, cathodic protection test posts were mostly inspected manually with multimeters and testers, which was inefficient, unreliable and highly risky, and could not meet the requirements of pipeline cathodic protection monitoring. The intelligent cathodic protection test post system has an automatic data collection function, which can collect natural potential, off-potential, cathodic protection potential, and also monitor AC and DC interference. When AC interference occurs at the measurement point, the collector will collect AC induced voltage and AC induced current to capture dynamic interference signals in a timely manner. Multiple collection devices on the line synchronously collect on-off potential, which is conducive to determining the range, intensity, and inflow and outflow positions of interference, identifying high-risk areas, and guiding subsequent drainage design and other work.
