  • Cathodic protection of the outside and inside of the bottom plate of storage tanks

Let's focus on the cathodic protection of the outside and inside of the tank bottom plate. As an important chemical storage equipment, the safety and reliability of storage tanks are highly valued. In the production process of storage tanks, cathodic protection technology is widely used in the corrosion protection of the outer and inner walls of the bottom plate. The principle of cathodic protection is simply to set up electrodes on the outer and inner walls of the bottom plate of the storage tank, and by supplying direct current to the electrodes, a cathodic protection current is generated, which guides corrosive gases and ions around the bottom plate to the electrodes, thus realizing the protection of the bottom plate. In this process, the tank bottom plate will not produce metal ions and will not cause pollution to the environment.        So, how is the cathodic protection of tank bottom plate realized?       First, an external electrode is set on the outside of the tank bottom plate, and a built-in anode forms an electrolytic system. The external electrode is made of high-quality copper or stainless steel, with good corrosion resistance. The built-in anode, on the other hand, is a movable metal structure, such as a copper rod or steel, which is connected to the external electrode by means of an electrolyte.Second, to ensure good contact between the electrodes and the tank floor, a special electrode paste needs to be applied to the floor. In addition, the operation of the electrodes needs to be checked regularly to ensure that they work properly.        Finally, during the use of the storage tank, the bottom plate needs to be tested regularly, and once signs of corrosion are found, timely measures should be taken to solve the problem.       When cathodic protection is carried out on the outside of the tank bottom plate, try to make the anode close to the center of the tank bottom plate. For new tanks, the anode can be installed in the tank foundation. For the tanks already built, unless the anode is installed in the foundation horizontally jacked in or a slanting shaft is drilled, the anode can only be arranged around the tank. When the tank has an impermeable membrane, the anode should be installed inside the impermeable membrane, and there should not be a diaphragm blocking the current flow between it and the tank base plate, and this aspect must be paid attention to. When the reference electrode is buried in the foundation of the storage tank, two kinds of reference electrodes, saturated copper sulfate and pure zinc, are generally buried. The position of the reference electrode is as close as possible to the bottom plate of the storage tank, located in the middle part of the anode belt, and evenly arranged from the center of the storage tank to the edge of the storage tank. When anodes are installed around the tank, the grounding grid will consume a large amount of cathodic protection current, making it difficult to meet the standard of protection in the center of the tank. If the anode is installed inside the impermeable membrane prevent the anode and the tank floor from being in the same soil, and install the lightning protection ground grid outside the impermeable membrane. Porous cork is installed at the end of the reference tube, when measuring, the reference tube is filled with water, the portable reference electrode is placed outside the tank in the reference tube in contact with the water, and the potential in the middle of the tank is measured with a voltmeter.        The cathodic protection of the inner wall of the sewage tank can be installed the sacrificial anode at the bottom of the storage tank. When the storage tank has an inner coating, it does not affect the distribution of current. Sewage tank inner wall applied current cathodic protection MMO cartridge anode is located in the middle of the manhole, which can ensure the uniform distribution of cathodic protection current.       In conclusion, cathodic protection technology has a wide range of applications in the field of corrosion protection of storage tanks, which can not only improve the service life of storage tanks, but also protect the human environment and ecological safety.
  • What are the problems to be addressed in using composite materials?

  • What are the preparation methods of composite materials?

The preparation methods of composite materials mainly include physical blending, chemical reaction, and hot-pressing molding methods. Among them, physical blending is used to mix two or more materials and then heat-treat them, chemical reaction is used to join two or more materials through chemical reactions, and hot-pressing molding is used to heat-treat two or more materials and press them into a shape.
  • What are the applications of composite materials?

Compared to traditional materials, composite materials have the following advantages: lighter weight, higher strength, and better corrosion resistance. For example, carbon fiber reinforced plastic is only one-fourth the weight of steel but four times as strong.
